Rico Rodriguez, well known for his work as Manny on Modern Family, has announced that his father Roy Rodriguez, 52, died suddenly last week.

“This has been the toughest week of my life. My Dad was the most kind hearted, loving, hard working, determined, and funny man I have ever known,” the 18-year-old actor wrote on Instagram. :He was like a super hero, he had the ability to get the best out of you day in and day out. I’m gonna miss your hugs. I’m gonna miss your advice. I’m gonna miss your smile, and I’m gonna miss your laugh. I know you’re looking down at us right now giving us the green light to move forward. I miss you Daddy. I’ll love you forever – Your youngest”

Rico‘s sister, actress Raini Rodriguez, also took to Instagram to mourn her father.

“You have officially been gone one week daddy and while it has been really difficult, we are all still standing tall and I know it’s because you are sending us strength and guidance all the way from heaven. My daddy was the greatest man in my life. His work ethic and sense of humor were two of his greatest characteristics, both of which he shared with me. He has taught me so many life lessons and inspired me constantly to follow my dreams. I know you will continue to shine down on me, momma, Rico, Ray, Poppi and baby and we will be ok! I promise to make you proud daddy. I will love and miss you forever. – Your one and only baby girl,” Raini wrote.

Roy is survived by his wife Diane, children Rico, Raini, Ray and Roy Jr., as well as 10 grandchildren. Our thoughts are with Rico, Raini, and Roy‘s entire family.

Sofia Vergara bundles up in a winter jacket as she takes a break on set on Wednesday (January 25) in Culver City, Calif.

The 44-year-old actress was joined on set by her co-stars Ed O’Neill and Rico Rodriguez as they filmed a scene for an upcoming episode of Modern Family.

The 17-year-old Modern Family actor met up with his co-stars Jeremy Maguire, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Rico Rodriguez, and his older sister, Raini.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy gives a kiss to fiance Peta Murgatroyd at the 2016 Entertainment Weekly Pre-Emmy Party held at Nightingale Plaza on Friday night (September 16) in Los Angeles.

The two pro dancers and expectant parents joined fellow dancer Allison Holker at the party, as well as actors Katie Cassidy, Zelda Williams, Amanda Crew, Elizabeth Henstridge, Isabelle Fuhrman, Brenda Song, Caity Lotz and Candice Patton.

Modern Family stars Ariel Winter, Sarah Hyland, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Ryan Guzman, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, and Lorenzo Henrie were also seen inside the party.

Derek Hough is also pictured at TV Guide Magazine’s Television Industry Advocacy Awards at Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.

Earlier in the night, Yara and Marcus stepped out at the Television Academy Reception for Emmy-Nominated Performers at Pacific Design Center.

Later on in the night, the 25-year-old Modern Family actress met up with her co-star Rico Rodriguez at The Buzzies, BuzzFeed’s Pre-Emmy party held at HYDE Sunset: Kitchen + Cocktails in West Hollywood.

The two were joined by his older sister Raini plus Rydel Lynch, Savannah Hudson, Jade Pettyjohn, Brec Bassinger, Aidan Alexander, Sixx Orange, Isabella Acres, Luna Blaise and Trevor Jackson at the bash.

Janel Parrish, Cody Christian, and Dylan Sprayberry also made it out to the party.

The 17-year-old Modern Family actor met up with his co-stars Ariel Winter and Rico Rodriguez, with his real life older sister, Raini.

“We had Aladdin guys and belly dancers and we had a a lot of really cool things,” Ariel dished to E! on the red carpet about her birthday party the night before. “My cake was awesome!”
