Singer Susan Boyle has opened up about having a boyfriend for the first time at the age of 53.

“I don’t want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him,” the 53-year-old entertainer told the Daily Mail. “All I’ll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy. It’s very early days so we’ll see what happens. I hope he comes over.”

Reportedly, the man in question is an American doctor that met when they stayed in the same hotel during her tour. They shared a meal and he was “the perfect gentleman”.

If you don’t remember, Susan broke out several years ago on Britain’s Got Talent with her amazing performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables.

Samantha Barks laughs with joy on the set of her new film The Christmas Candle on Thursday (February 28) in Oxfordshire, England.

The 22-year-old actress was joined on the set by her co-star Susan Boyle, who will be making her feature film debut in the flick.

“Everyone on set is a delight to work with, and it’s a fantastic experience to be part of the team,” Susan said about working on the project (via THR). “I’m really enjoying getting dressed in the period costumes and stepping back in time, and although it’s very cold filming on location, I’m wearing long johns under my bustle.”

“Having just landed from the Academy Awards, I had an hour to unpack and repack and get to set. I’m very excited to be part of The Christmas Candle, and I’m loving every second,” Samantha added.
