The Mummy London premiere has been cancelled after the terrible tragedy that occurred in Manchester, England this week at the Manchester Arena during Ariana Grande‘s concert.

“All of us at Universal have been devastated by the terror attack in Manchester and continue to stand with the community and country as it recovers. Out of respect to those affected by this tragedy we have decided not to move forward with the London premiere for ‘The Mummy’ scheduled to take place next week,” a statement from Universal Pictures read (via Variety).

The premiere was scheduled to take place on June 1.

The Manchester bombing left 22 dead and countless injured at the area where Ariana Grande was holding her concert. Our continued thoughts are with the victims and the families who have been affected.

Tom Cruise keeps it dapper in a suit while attending his photo call for The Mummy held at World Square on Tuesday (May 23) in Sydney, Australia.

The 54-year-old actor was joined at the event by his co-stars Russell Crowe, Annabelle Wallis and Sofia Boutella, as well as producer Alex Kurtzman.

“Thank you to everyone who came out to The Mummy‘s premiere in Australia. It’s so great to be back,” Tom wrote on his Twitter account. “I’m so grateful to this cast and our director for making The Mummy such an unforgettable experience.”

Tom Cruise flashes a smile alongside co-star Russell Crowe as they hit the carpet together at the Australian premiere of their anticipated film The Mummy Australian held at QT Sydney’s State Theatre on Monday (May 22) in Sydney, Australia.

The 54-year-old actor and Russell, 53, were joined at the event by their leading ladies Annabelle Wallis and Sofia Boutella, as well as producer Alex Kurtzman.

The Mummy marks the first time Tom and Russell have ever worked together in a film despite knowing each other for years.

“I’ve known him for 100 years and when we were standing on set, I was like, ‘I cannot believe that we haven’t done this before.’,” Tom recently expressed. “When he said he would play Doctor Jekyll I was so excited to see what he would do with that character and have the opportunity to finally work with him.”

The 54-year-old actor was joined by his co-stars Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Annabelle Wallis, and the film’s director Alex Kurtzman as they attended the Mummy Day celebrations on Saturday afternoon (May 19) at Hollywood & Highland in Hollywood, Calif.

The movie hits theaters on June 9 and a new trailer for the blockbuster will debut on Sunday.
