OlderHalle Berry Finally Making Scents
Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry will be developing a fragrance and appear in its advertising, reports WWD.
“Halle is an iconic actress and symbolizes beauty to many generations,” said Steve Mormoris, senior vice president of global marketing at Coty Beauty US. “She adds another dimension to the celebrity fragrance market. Halle has always been a little more mysterious, not quite as open with her personal life as some other stars. Her fragrances will allow her to present another facet of her personality to her fans.”
Halle‘s perfume will hit stores globally in spring 2009. She likely was paid $3-5 million up front, with a royalty of about 5 percent.

Iconic (in her mind). Beauty for future generations-her looks are overstated. Her age, plastic surgery, botox, I dunno. Liz Taylor and Sophia Loren etal are icons and the epitome of beauty for future generations–Halle while she has relied on her good looks all these years is no way near being in their league. Keeping her private life private—LMAOROTF. She has ALWAYS made her private life VERY public for years who is she and Coty kidding.
Looks like she may be trying to re-coup possible losses from Pimp Daddy as one board calls Aubry if she really did invest anything in his failed restaurant venture. A quick $3-$5M upfront not bad, for letting folks do the work for her, giving her opinions, and appearing in the ads. Probably she’s looking for easy/other ways of earning income while she’s in LA raising her baby.
Think she joined the celebrity parfume bandwagon in this stage in her career. The product will make some money, but I don’t think it will be as much as all think. She should have done far better and sales would have hit the ceiling, if she did this right after her Oscar win being fresh and on top of her game. While she has done pretty well getting $10-$14M per movie (much less on her last one) , her Revlon/other contracts, I don’t see her being as successful in this venture as JLo who is definitely a smart business woman work with the right people in her various ventures.
iconic–a legend in her own delusional mind–Ruby Dee, Diahann Carroll and others from the old school are icons. private-guess airing her dirty laundry on Oprah, Larry King and others including the blogs /media having a field day with she, Aubry and the baby for almost three (she & Aubry) all don’t count. what will her next strategy be–maybe silence is golden?
Private-U forgot to mention the article clippings of she/Aubry in CF’s bathrooms ,the Parade fiasco and her many other articles in pubs bashing the exes every time she used to have a movie come out to bash the exes, do those not count too?
You have always been my girl Halle but now you seen to be a has been washed up old mother to be. We need another scent of a woman like we need a headache.You invested in a project that did not work so collect your loses and not try to have the public bail you out.Your choices has not been so good about a lot of things but stay strong and this to shall pass.
