Kirsten Dunst and Diane Kruger wear bright blues and fuchsias at the Palme d’Or Award Closing Ceremony held at the Palais des Festivals during the 2010 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 23) in Cannes, France.
The festival’s top prize, the Palme d’Or, went to Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives from director Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Synopsis: Suffering from acute kidney failure, Uncle Boonmee has chosen to spend his final days surrounded by his loved ones in the countryside. Surprisingly, the ghost of his deceased wife appears to care for him, and his long lost son returns home in a non-human form. Contemplating the reasons for his illness, Boonmee treks through the jungle with his family to a mysterious hilltop cave — the birthplace of his first life…
FYI: Diane wore a two-tone gown custom-created by Jason Wu and a satin clutch by Roger Vivier. Kirsten donned Chanel with Jimmy Choo heels.

I love Kirsten. Everything looks great here except for the dress itself. I personally think she’s one of the best dressed women in Hollywood, but here it’s not working. At least she takes risks.

And how old is Kirsten now, 50? Why is she dressing in such a matronly way?
I like Dianes’ dress and would have liked to see it on Kirsten as well. Kirsten has a nice trim figure, it’s hard to understand why she keeps choosing such dowdy clothes.
Diane is stunning in this dress, it’s really the best dress I’ve seen her wear in the last few months (except for the CK dress at the Met which was very classy). Frankly I would say if you want to remember dresses from cannes look at :
1. the dress diane is wearing in this post
2. the red dress that emilie blunt wore for the AMFAR party.

Both dresses are not working for me. Kirsten’s make-up is way too heavy, I think a more natural look will suit her very well.
