Rihanna: Reb'l Fleur Ad Revealed!

Rihanna is set to release her first fragrance, Reb’l Fleur, next month.

“My grandmother in Barbados used to call me her Rebel Flower,” the 22-year-old “What’s My Name” singer revealed.

Over the years, I layered many different scents to get something that was truly my own,” Ri added. “But I wanted…something that said ‘Rihanna was here.’ Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory.”

People reports that the scent has notes of ripe fruits and florals as well as vanilla, patchouli and amber. Reb’l Fleur will hit shelves next month and will cost $49 for a 1.7 ounce bottle.

So she inked her own body (with a mistake) just to sell something…

Is this dumb b!tch ever going to realise that this phrase is grammatically incorrect?

  • Eric Gibson Cartman

Probably smells like flowers, watermelon and fried chicken.

  • anais

Rebel flower may be cute, but the real traduction should be Fleur Rebelle, not rebel fleur and even less reb’l fleur! If you don’t speak french ask someone who does instead of using google translate… it never works!

  • amensister

christ not another bloody celebrity perfume!!!!

and yet there will be some dumb ass spending $50 in this recession for this perfume

  • Lexus

How is it any of your business why she inked herself? Did she use your ink? Or your money?
And what is your business at all with the correctness of the phrase? LOL. What a FOOL. It’s two words. Rebel. Flower. The End. How about YOU go get a job & get off the internet? Here’s an idea! Apply for one as a french teacher.

  • XYZ

Does she have purple eyes in that pic? Bad Photoshop, boys…

  • yuck

what a trashy corruption of the word. ewww. Someone should come out with something with the correct spelling just to out do her. I expect that we will see this in JC penny, K mart and other places where tacky celeb scents are sold.

  • um

    @Eric Gibson Cartman:

    She’s from Barbados hun…

She’s so full of herself. Rihanna, you arent delicious and especial or leave a sexy memory. Get it and face it!!

  • Lilakoi Moon

The bottle is beautiful but I would never, ever buy this crap even if my life depended on it. Why waste my money on this ish if I can just buy a good (maybe expensive but valuable) fragrance by a famous brand?! The only pretty thing on her (in my humble opinion) is her lips. Don’t even get me started on the grammatically not correct French translation of “rebel flower”! She’s such a fool.

The Name was Not Created by Rihanna’s grandmother. It was thought up by someone who entered a contest to come up with the name last febuary sponsored by Rihanna Daily and promoted on many sites.
Pretty low to use her grandmother in all this. Please spare a thought for the person who created the name, hoping for a small amount of recognition that would enable them to open up career opportunities and look after their family.
This is a sorry state of affairs.

  • reba

That hair colour really works on her. I love it!

  • Turn-It-in

All these perfume smell like another one released before it..That tacky translation screams <> to attract attention..YOu wanna get noticed, pretend you like french eg; “LOLA vie”(J.Anniston), “I’m putting on my Louboutins” (JLo) ,” DERÉON” (Beyonce) etc….Thnx to these tghe greed of Music industry, other people will be out of a job they know how to do best

  • Mashly

Gosh ppl get it together…..why is it okay for other celebs to do it & Rih cant…..she girl is rich and couldnt care less about what you all think…they will sell til there are none left….

@Turn-It-in: Beyonce actually has a French background (her maternal grandmother), which is why both she and her sister have French names. Don’t heap her in with the rest of that trash.

  • frensch

how do you even know its french?
if my grandmother called me honeybun, i wouldn’t go and translate it to french. maybe that is how you speak in Barbados.
cant deny, she look FLAWLESS in this ad!

  • A

that stuff was at macy’s in my mall where i live when i went there around christmas. this chick smelt it and she walked away with this look on her face… lmao, i didnt bother smelling it though…

  • Anya

i feel sorry for the idiots that buy perfumes just because some celebrity put their name on it. Like why would anyone want to smell like this wide nosed tranny anyways?

  • Kelly

I wonder everyone loves to say something negative, it’s actually quite sad.

  • Clairedelune

terrible job on her camp. this is not her creative/funky high fashion chic usual style…. the face could be changed to naomi watts for goodness sake…… i think soon enough will be selling at Duane Reade in the “locked glass case” right next to cigarettes and nicorettes behind the cash wrap.

  • Annie

Haha, yeah, this will soon be in the discount bin at the drug store. And naming the perfume Rebel Fleur, trying to pretend that the grammatically incorrect tat wasn’t a mistake? Lame.

  • tante augustine

I’m French. The name of this perfume is absolutely moronic.

  • Brock

@ most commentors: I can clearly understand why her next step would be a fragrance. She’s a star and is doing what most stars in her position do…I think most of you commenting here are envious or haters! Rihanna can and will do what she wants and If I were in here shoes I’d probably do the same. Don’t hate on her because she living the life, live your own. I think the name calling and trash talking is ignorant.

  • Brock

@Kelly: I agree with you…this is really sad that folks have to put this woman down for being rich and famous.

  • Jenna

@ all the people going on and on about the phrase being grammatically incorrect, I have seen her interviewed where she says she knew that it was wrong but wanted it that way for a reason. Her name is Robyn Fenty. Rebelle Fleur, Robyn Fenty, RF, RF…see the connection?

  • NB

Some of these comments are ridiculous. Rihanna never endorsed any kind of contest asking fans to help name the perfume. RihannaDaily, an UNOFFICIAL fan site for the singer, hosted a forum in which fans could suggest names for the perfume simply for fun. Tila Tequila began the rumor, stating a “close source” told her about the so called contest and how Rihanna so called abused creative relationships with her fans.

  • NB

@Jenna – I completely agree with you. Not to mention, the perfume is called REBEL Flower. Rebel, as in, resisting authority and the general populations opinion. So what if she wants to spell it differently, or incorrectly, or what ever you wanna call it? Or even in a different language? At least she stays true to what she markets.
