Claire Danes 'Couldn't Be Happier' With Golden Globe Nod

Claire Danes carries a bright orange and black striped bag while out in NYC’s Soho neighborhood on Friday (December 16).

Earlier in the day, the 32-year-old actress stopped by Today where she chatted about receiving a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Actress category for Homeland.

“I’m very happy to be invited to the party!” Claire said. “It’s a great thrill and honor and we just basically finished filming so it’s kind of wonderful to have this immediate response and appreciation. I couldn’t be happier.”

As for news that Homeland is one of President Obama‘s favorite shows, Claire shared her initial response was, “‘What?! What?!’ He’s in the opening credits, maybe that’s why. No, it’s an amazing honor.”
