Natalie Portman Drops by Dry Cleaners

Natalie Portman takes a tan trench coat and some other clothes to the dry cleaners on Friday (May 25) in North Hollywood, Calif.

Earlier in the week, the 30-year-old actress took her adorable 11-month-old son Aleph to the park, where she helped him down a slide and played in a sand box.

Natalie, who recently signed on for the Western Jane Got a Gun, is also working on Lawless.

The Terrence Malick-directed drama centers around “two intersecting love triangles, sexual obsession, and betrayal set against the music scene in Austin, Texas.”

Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, and Rooney Mara also co-star in the flick (which has the same name as Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy‘s latest project).

She looks pissed.

I just saw an older movie with her in it. I forgot how good she is. She does great drama and can do humor too. I really respect her.

Oh and I’d look pissed too if a bunch of men with cameras were following her while she ran errands. We don’t need to see her go to the dry cleaners. so,etimes the paps are so invasive.

Like the dry cleaners are a big deal? Why can’t they just leave her and others alone when doing normal stuff. I understand at premieres and awards shows they expect it but getting clothes cleaned just isn’t news!

LOL people, the paparazzi are usually just in the “area” and then get a tip-off as to where the famous people are. The dont necessarily chase exclusively after one celebrity. So most likely, these guys were in the general area, got a phone call saying “hey, I think Natalie Portman is pulling into the dry cleaners”, and so they go to the dry cleaners. It’s not “today, we’re going to try to get pictures of JUST Natalie Portman”.

@Shutterbug: I just don’t get who would buy such pictures? There’s no news story to go with it.

You have to understand too that there is a symbiotic relationship between movie stars like Natalie Portman and the paparazzi because they are what create hype and generate interest in the celebrity. To us it might look like the simple act of going to the dry cleaners, but also remember that many photos are snapped of the celebrity usually after some announcement was made in the press about the person in question. So no, the paparazzi are not entirely invasive because they create necessary fodder for the entertainment industry and help give us common folks a window into the lives of the people who are so widely exposed to audiences worldwide.

I wish I could tell you as I agree with you. It appears to be quite boring or symptomatic of a slow news day, but these “pests” of paps weasel their way into these situations and in a simple twist of fate, are also working for the higher-ups as they do this.
