“I have a guest appearance on a TV show that’s premiering this summer,” the 20-year-old Irish actress teased to us. “I’ll be in the finale episode and hopefully it’ll turn into a more regular role. I’m just really excited about that. It’s a great series and has an amazing cast.”

Evanna Lynch – Exclusive JustJared.com Interview

JJ: How did shooting TV compare to your film experiences?

EL: I was excited and nervous because it was the first thing I did since Harry Potter, so it was the first thing I kind of felt like, you know this is job. Harry Potter was my childhood and it felt very safe and this was something I was excited about. I wanted to work and meet new people. (You can still vote for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 as MTV’s Movie of the Year!)

JJ: Tell me about the day you got your Harry Potter role and then the last day on set.

EL: It was when I was 14. I knew they were going to call me and tell me whether I got it or not. It was on a Monday and so I told my mom, “We need to go straight home after school.” I was checking my phone and nothing, nothing. Then she was like, ” We need to go pick up some groceries.” and I was like, “No, because you’ll take so long. I’ll get the groceries.” So I went into the store and I got the call!

And the day [I] left was obviously a sad day to see that chapter close. My last day was a group scene. I didn’t have any lines… I remember being there and being so happy to see everyone again. It wasn’t until the very end when I went to say goodbye to the producers and director David Yates that I just broke down, because that was when I first came to the studio for my first audition, that was where we went first. It was all very new and I ended up feeling so at home there.

JJ: Did you take anything from set?

EL: I didn’t steal any props. I collected all the call sheets (laughs) and I took the sign from my door that said my name. I wasn’t very daring.

JJ: What were your favorite looks from today’s photo shoot?

EL: The feathery one was fun. It was so much fun because they were not clothes that I would normally wear or choose for myself. I like how at photo shoots you go and someone sees you how you would see yourself. It just opens your mind to characters you can play and things like that.

JJ: You have a Michael Jackson tattoo…

EL: Yeah, I’ve had that for a while. I got that on my 18th birthday. I just always wanted a tattoo and it’s a place where I don’t see it so I don’t ever get tired of it. I think it’s fun because people don’t expect it of me.

JJ: Are there any books that you’d love to see get adapted into a movie?

EL: “The Hunger Games” is the big one for me recently. I don’t know, can I get back to you on that? I always liked that book, “Star Girl”. Have you heard of that one? She was very much like the character of Luna so that’s why I liked it. She was more damaged than Luna. I’m going to go look at my bookcase when I go home.

JJ: I know you like Disney. Who is your favorite princess?

EL: I love Ariel. I got her autograph. (laughs)

JJ: That would be an awesome movie, right?

EL: Yeah, absolutely yes! I think they should do like a dark one, like how they’ve done Snow White. Maybe they could do the real fairytale. The real fairy tale is where she dies at the end and he doesn’t love her in return.I think there’s sort of a message in there like wasted opportunities. Like she always wants to be this something. It is sad, but I think it would be interesting.

JJ: Would you dye your hair red?

EL: Absolutely, yeah. I can’t swim, though, so that’s a problem.

JJ: What kind of music do you listen to?

EL: I do listen to a lot of Michael Jackson. I also like Aqualung, they’re my favorite band.

JJ: Do you have any secret hobbies?

EL: I do a lot of yoga…I’m training to be a teacher. I enjoy it. It keeps me calm. I like art. I go to art galleries a lot.

JJ: Who’s your favorite artist?

EL: I think Chagall. His stuff is so dreamy.

@XYZ:

Thank god not everyone is like you. Haters to the Left

Proverbs 22:7-The rich ruleth over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. He loves us all.

# 7

She looks pretty.

# 8

@John: A fan who managed to make her dream come true of starring in one of the biggest film franchises in history. Which is more than you ever will achieve.

# 9

She’d be more interesting if she actually had a career to follow. So far all the other main Potter kids have movies left and right.

She’s lovely. I hope to see her working more in the near future – she was one of the clear standouts in Harry Potter.

She seems like she’d be so wonderful to talk to. She just radiates positive energy.

Not surprised she doesn’t have much to talk about in this interview. Of all her fellow castmates, she does seem to be the least talented. Would explain why the rest have got many roles and she has one?

@bababababab:

Disagree on Tom and Bonnie. Tom’s films they’re not all bad but some of the ones he’s attached to are heh. Bonnie has been doing pretty well. Got her short film in Cannes and two projects in the works one with Emily Watson as co-star.

I have yet to be convinced she is especially talented. There’s a reason why her post-Potter career consists of a minor role in one episode of a TV show and I doubt it’s because she’s being picky about her projects. I think it’s smart of her to have a backup career.

She’s the most boring HP cast ever! There is nothing new in this interview because she has nothing new to discuss. I don’t even understand the point of this whole photoshoot and interview. What is she promoting? Her one appearance in a tv show that is not even aired yet? Her lack of works? Her new nosejob?

David Miranda @ 06/02/2012 at 7:29 am

so pretty

@Fireworks: Then why do you cared to enter? To prove that you don’t care? Idiot.

@Fireworks: Also, Evanna doesn’t have a nose job. Where you people find stupid things. It’s awful that people like you says such a awful things to a such and wonderful girl like Evanna.

For you haters, you don’t know nothing about Evanna. She fought to get her role as Luna, she overcome anorexia and beated 15.000 girls in a audition. Nobody does that. She’s a role model for lots of people, she proofs that dreams can come true.

Your problem is that she’s not like those brat actresses that people like you started to worship, that they only had big roles because of money and the Hollywood boxes who only care about money and not about talent.

Evanna is a better actress and person that most of the so called young talented actors in Hollywood.

@David: LOL, you’re delusional to think what you think: like most of the kids in HP, she looked the part. She was never gonna be used for more than a couple of scenes in the films, they didn’t necessarily need an Oscar contender of Luna Lovegood.

I worship Jennifer Lawrence, Lizzie Olsen, Dakota Fanning, Emma Stone, Hailee Steinfeld… you can’t possibly say Evanna Lynch is more talented than them?

And yes, she did have a nose job.

I think she is a wonderful young lady, and her photos were beautiful. If you don’t have any thing nice to say please say nothing.

Nothing.

LOL she definitely did the nosejob! Damn, I use to like her and respect her but now… she talked about accepting who you are and be proud of your own body image but then she went and had a nosejob? PLEASEEEE

Flushingmeadows @ 06/03/2012 at 2:22 pm

I dunno about how ‘talented’ she is but I know I enjoy her screen presence immensely. More so than many other young actors. Just my opinion, of course. Also, she’s really cute.

she’s lovely
