Andy Roddick Plays Final Tennis Match, Brooklyn Decker Cries

Andy Roddick plays his final competitive tennis match ever during day ten of the 2012 U.S. Open on Wednesday (September 5) at the USTA Billie Jean King Center in the Queens neighborhood of New York City.

The 30-year-old athlete’s wife Brooklyn Decker watched on in tears as Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina beat the retiring player in four sets.

“For the first time in my career I’m not sure what to say. Where do I start? Since I was a kid, I’ve been coming to this tournament and felt lucky to sit where all of you are sitting today and watch this game and see all the champions that have come and gone. I’ve loved every minute of it,” Andy said in a post-game interview. “It’s been a road of a lot of ups and downs, a lot of great moments. I appreciate your support all the way. I really do appreciate and love you guys with all my heart. Hopefully I’ll come back to this place one day and see all of you again.”

Andy also paid tribute to his family and his agent Ken Meyerson, who passed away last year.

He sucks and he knows it.
That’s why he decided to retire.
Good decision.

How come every major tennis star is a tall guy with curly hair named Andy?

Aww his wife is so sweet, supporting him like that <3

@M: That’s what i was thinking.haha

Good luck to Andy in whatever he pursues next.

@M: Brooklyn is an actress and slowly creating a name for herself. Even though she’s married to Andy Roddick…she just isn’t Mrs. Andy Roddick. You can tell she really loves her husband.

@BHH: Yes, that’s why she couldn’t stop partying with Taylor Kitsch, all up on him, throwing herself at him, during Battleship’s world tour: because she “loves her husband”. Please, she must be already looking for the next guy to keep her on the spotlight. She NEVER supported her husband, she was only with him now on every game because of his announcement, knowing that the media was paying attention.

@Kiki: those r crocodile tears…LOL

All very well with Andy … And the photos of the winner? … It seems unfair that there is a photo of Juan Martin del Potro… :/
