Kate Upton: 'Vogue' Magazine Feature!

Kate Upton: 'Vogue' Magazine Feature!

Kate Upton is super sexy in a one piece bathing suit in this new feature from Vogue‘s November 2012 issue, on newsstands October 23.

Here’s what the 20-year-old model had to share with the mag, which features cover gal Rihanna:

On learning about the modeling industry: “Coming from a sports-fanatic family, I really didn’t know a lot about the small fashion circles. When I was able to accomplish that, I slowly started figuring things out—and when I have a goal. I do everything to accomplish it.”

On keeping a good body image:
“I don’t want to starve myself. I still want to hang out with my family and be a normal girl. You have to be confident, and that doesn’t mean starving yourself.”

On feeling good about herself and others: “When I lived in Florida, the swimsuit was the key wardrobe piece. I lived ten minutes from the beach, but I never sat there and said, ‘I want to be every man’s fantasy.’ It wasn’t a big deal to be in a bathing suit. Now, whenever girls come up to me saying they’re happy to see I am confident about my body, it makes me feel good that I am contributing in a way among people my age, people who could be my friends.”

Rihanna on the cover, Kate Upton inside.
What happened, Vogue?

# 7

It’s been a while since we haven’t seen a healthy lady in vogue. I like it! Models should look like this

# 8

Trashy and cheap as usual. What`s the hype around her? With this feature Vogue is going down more than ever…

# 9

Really Vogue?
Really?
Who’s next?
Pamela Anderson?
Courtney Stodden?

C.mon she’s not that bad. I applaud her getting in the fashion snobs faces. They all think that models should look one way (like Gisele) and not be pretty. I wish her the best.

uh-huh. She talks about body image as ‘not starving herself’ what an idiot. There are skinny girls, fat girls, busty girls, curvless girls. Body image isnt about ‘not starving’ its about accepting yourself. Moron.

beautiful face and a healthy body -like some early supermodels before the skinnyhype

@creed:

Yeah! But I think if you’re starving yourself you’re not projecting that you feel good about your body dude! So I think it kind of goes together. Moron!!!

@jess:

Fat frustrated feminist ??? Is it you??

Despite being labelled as the archetypal pin up girl blonde next door, Ms. Upton, it seems, is adamant about crossing into the high fashion department that she covets, which raises the specter…will her latest appearance raise her, and similar shaped girl’s, chances of crossing into high fashion modeling? Or is this just a situation of Vogue taking advantage of Ms. Upton’s reputation by choosing to feature her, and are paying lip service to the gesture that they and the fashion industry is now ready to start using curvier girls in its high fashion editorials.

why you all are that bitter and jealous? i think its good that vogue brings pics of “normal” weight people, too. i mean look at all this girls on the runways getting thinner and thinner and becaues they need to look healthy too, they getting younger and younger as well. because there are more “natural thin” girls in young age. this business gets crazier every year.

@Yeah yeah yeah!: actually, a fit, funny feminist….Kate Upton’s lackey, is that you??
