Paparazzo Chasing Justin Bieber's Car Struck & Killed By Oncoming Car

A paparazzo was struck and killed by a car while attempting to take pictures of Justin Bieber‘s Ferrari, according to TMZ.

The 18-year-old singer’s car was pulled over near the Getty Center in Los Angeles for routine traffic stop on Sepulveda Blvd when a paparazzo who had been chasing the car got out of his/her vehicle to snap pics.

Police told the photog to move back as the situation was unsafe and soon after the photog was struck by an oncoming car and killed.

“While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim,” Justin said in a statement.

First Princess Diana and now this? The paparazzi is out of control. No one’s life is worth a stupid picture.

  • Pernilla C

I hope it was one of those X17 douchebags Sandro Rodriguez or Felipe Teixiera. They’re always reckless and chasing the Biebs

  • Princess Paparazzi?

@Vanessa: You’re a little off the mark …. it wasn’t Justin that died, so the comparison of the photographer to Diana is a exaggerated; although, the idea that the photographers need to stop hounding him is true enough.

  • Diane

At least it wasn’t the subject of the photos who died this time.

    What a way to go

  • Hmmm

@Princess Paparazzi?: Wow, and all this time I thought that a human life is a human life, and that even when a non-celebrity dies, that is a tragic event. It wasn’t Justin Bieber who was killed, so in the world according to Princess Paparazzi, it’s all good, right?

  • Drinks

They need to make laws about paps following people while driving.

  • Diane

This guy put his own life in danger. If he wasn’t stalking Justin Bieber, he’d be alive.

  • African Girl

This is just so sad in its ridiculousness.

  • Tim Gunn

    There is a God !!!

Now, how about direct lightning strikes for the remainder?

  • Journalistic

The comments on here are kind of gross. The man was just trying to make a living. Paparazzi ≠ bad people.

  • Rick

@Princess Paparazzi?: I think what Vanessa was trying to say was that there have been at least two incidents where people were killed because the paparazzi were giving chase. In the first incident, Princess Diana, Dodi Fayed, and Henri Paul were killed after the paps chased them into the tunnel. In this second incident, the photographer was killed trying to chase down Justin Bieber. I thought her comment was clear enough, and I think most posters would agree, but I am happy to clear things up for you. You’re welcome. ;)

  • President Obama

I am President Obama and this is a outrage! he should have left that little school girl alone!

  • SMH

@Tim Gunn: Now that’s just wrong.

  • Sasha

Not only did he die trying to take a picture of Bieber, he wasn’t even in the car so he died trying to get a picture of a random person…brutal.

  • LooseLipz

Very sad. Nobody should die in this way. The poor family of this young man.

  • Arlene

@Journalistic: I agree. I do believe the paparazzi take their efforts too far sometimes to capture their photos, but the hate against them is really misunderstood. Most people act like the paparazzi do this for fun (hence so many people call them stalkers) when stalkers are people who do this out of some insane obsession. These paparazzi are just doing their job like any cashier working at the supermarket or any one of you reading this, they get paid. When you’re desperate for a job you”ll take whatever job you can get. I feel kind of bad that this guy got killed just to try to put food on his table everyday.

  • Well….

It’s tragic about the photographer, but I also feel very sorry for the driver who hit him. The officer told the photographer to move away from an unsafe situation, and the photographer apparently didn’t listen. Now the driver has to live with this for the rest of his/her life, and there’s a very strong possibility it was not his/her fault. Sad all around.

  • Princess Paparazzi?

@Hmmm: Perhaps you need to go back and re-read the comment. Nowhere did I say that the photographer’s life was not valuable. I did say, my illiterate little friend, that the comparison is not accurate. Read and analyze before you type.

  • Princess Paparazzi?

@Rick: I’m aware of what she was saying. The logic and comparison were flawed. ;)

  • janey

From watching programmes about the paparazzi it seems theres huge money to be made at this game and the more exclusive the picture the more money they earn so some of the more ambitious ones go to extreme lengths to get what they want. This picture however was not one of them in my opinion. Very sad thing to happen to anyone.

  • Just my opinion

    @Well….: I agree.

  • Just my opinion

@Princess Paparazzi?: How is the logic and comparison flawed? A number of people on other sites have compared the two incidents. They are similar in that people were killed because they were stalked by the paparazzi.

  • sonia

this is real news or fake

  • Ellie

    @sonia: What?!

  • May

@katie: They killed Diana and still didn’t learn anything.

  • Kelly

    @Just my opinion: Exactly.

  • Susan

Such a sad shame. I’m sorry but Justin Bieber isn’t worth dying for.

  • Toni

Yes – agreed that it is always sad for a life to be taken. But these parasites know this and still push things over the edge every day. I’m surprised (and glad) that no innocent person has been killed by them charging through red lights and causing dangerous traffic situations either through their driving, or walking around the celebrities cars on the road. I do not understand why there are no laws stipulating a safe distance from them to the celebs. Even more so – banning them from areas like schools, and playground areas. You don’t know if it is a pap or a paedophile/pervert.

i feel bad for the driver who hit him. can’t imagine how they must be feeling right now

  • ..

of course he wasn’t ‘behind the wheel’ – I call bulsh<t – and in case you forget, celebrities CALL the paparazzi so the blame game is on both of them.. And for the people who are saying it's his fault.. well.. you need to either grow up or lock yourself in a closet until you're old enough to know right from wrong.
Death is tragic so stop talking so much sh<t.. it's incredibly sad that someone lost their life for this.

Not casualties necessary, but when stupid people like you keep reading the blogs and make money for all the gossip industry. Enough said right? If you don’t care about Justin or Gossip or hate paparazzi, what the hell are you doing here on Just Jared??? People with cameras will not have a job if people like you unplug from the gossip, so to fulfill your empty soul with fashion, gossip and news because your life it’s so sad, the paparazzi and celebs are there for that a a whole industry of money that you probably will never make because all you do is read blogs. To make sure your brain is filled with shit. It was an accident just like many others that we see it on the news daily, but this time s celebrity and a photographer is on the news, so thats entertainment for you as well, sad, but true…If you don’t like all thr above go watch National Geographic at your TV, if you can afford cable of course…

  • Josh

@Answer: Well, you’re out here too, bub, so I guess you just felt the need to deflect?

@Answer: Something tells me you are not a Nat Geo viewer yourself. ;)

  • Answer

I am part of this industry. Just the people that are full of hate and complaints need to listen to that. We make money out of this like CNN makes money out of wars. Difference? One is called Politics sections and this is entertainment. In this case, sad one. I feel sorry for the driver, the photographer, and everybody in the scene, can’t comment on the accident as I wasn’t there. Yes I do read all the blogs daily and got no problem with none of them, celebs, paps, or anyone. Just outsiders pretending they hate gossip and guess what? They are here…

  • Answer

Yes I am….when I’m off work and want to watch the real life without money and learn more about nature.

  • Kayla

@Answer: I get that the paps are just doing their jobs, and yes, they wouldn’t have those jobs if people like me didn’t come to these sites. But I also agree with Toni (#33) that the methods used to obtain the information is often extremely dangerous. There are too many stories about accidents resulting from people being chased by photographers.

  • Paparazzi = douche bags

Paparazzi attributes = rude, selfish beyond words, classless, leech like, insensitive, mannerless, uncivil, pushy, relentless, merciless, uncouth, unlawful, nervy… Am I leaving anything out?

  • Toni

I think also, that the good paps should oust the bad ones. Like the ones that take unlawful photos over peoples home fences, holding cameras under the skirts, follow the moms with their children, and especially the ones that heckle people – just to get a reaction off them. It’s no wonder that fights sometimes break out. I can imagine that if anyone of us was getting verbally abused by some stranger, that we would respond in some way. And Lord help the stranger(s) following and photographing my children. It’s these low life that make all the paps look really bad.

Hope he wasn’t employed by Just Jared.
