Amy Adams: Cinema Vanguard Award Winner at SBIFF!

Amy Adams attends the Cinema Vanguard Award Ceremony as part of the 28th Santa Barbara Film Festival held at the Arlington Theatre on Thursday (January 31) in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The 38-year-old actress, who won the award that evening, was joined for support by The Master co-star Joaquin Phoenix.

Adams is one of the gutsiest and most gifted actors working today,” SBIFF executive director Roger Durling said in a statement. “She embodies what the Cinema Vanguard Award is all about, and after her performance in The Master, the time has come to recognize her talent and versatility.”

FYI: Amy is wearing a Jenny Packham dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, and Kimberly McDonald jewels.

Joaquin got dressed in 30 seconds, apparently. Such an anti-Hollywood rebel! Please.

Joaquin looking hot! He’s such a handsome hobo.

Ignore the haters, Joaquin. Some of us love the real deal. Freddie Quell will become iconic. Anyone who has fought abroad in a bloody mess appreciates what you wrought out of this role.

I agree about Adams. I was never a fan when she insisted on playing innocent young 20 somethings when she was obviously a worldly intelligent mature woman. After The Fighter and The Master…she shows herself to be one of the greats of this decade. Keep up the good choices Amy.

Amy Adams deserves the Oscar for best supporting actress. Not ANNoying Hathaway
