Avan Jogia Covers 'Glow' Magazine May 2013

Avan Jogia gets colorful on the May 2013 cover of Glow magazine.

Here’s what the 21-year-old actor had to share with the mag:

On his personal style: “I have always really appreciated the lifestyle of gypsies so I guess there’s that. I look at personal style as a costume. Depending on my mood I’ll put on a different costume. I also like everything I wear to hold meaning or value, like shamans in a way. Most of what I wear holds a personal attachment or a story.”

On his new role in Twisted: “The show centers around my character, Danny, who after spending five years in juvenile hall for the ‘supposedly’ killing of his aunt, goes back to his local high school to try and regain the trust of his childhood friends. It’s a show about redemption and how when people are scared they will isolate and alienate you based on your past.”

On where he wants to be in five years: “I would like to be playing characters that are honest and imaginative, but hell, I could be pumping gas, I don’t know… I’m just gonna work hard and hold on to my hat.”

Of course, make the ethnic guy ‘bad’. So typical of Hollywood. Can they ever think outside the box!?!

# 2

@Reba: yup. which is strange because the whites invaded the ethnic countries and took over because they wanted the land so technically they are the bad guys. and as much as people try and argue it was to civilise them, there was nothing wrong with how they were living in the first place.

YAAAS HONEY!!! @ 06/01/2013 at 5:03 am

@true: Whites are technically the bad guy? Dude, they ARE the bad guy.

# 4

Why can’t there be comments actually about Avan Jogia instead of just his race? Would that just make too much sense to you guys? Instead, you find it necessary to be offensive to an entire race of people? Keep it classy, guys.

# 5

@Kaitlin: The comments aren’t offensive. The stereotypical roles that are always given to nonwhite actors are offensive.
