Skier Bode Miller Brought to Tears Over Dead Brother in NBC Interview with Christin Cooper (Video)
Bode Miller sheds a tear after being provoked into remembering his late brother Chelone during an interview following his win at the Alpine Skiing Men’s Super-G competition on day 9 of the 2014 Winter Olympics on Sunday (February 16) in Sochi, Russia.
The 36-year-old Olympic athlete, who won the Bronze medal, was interviewed by NBC’s Christin Cooper following his win and he broke down in tears while remembering his brother, who died last year after suffering a seizure.
“With my brother passing away, I really wanted to come back here and race the way he sends it. So this was a little different,” Bode said. When asked if the race was for him, he responded with “I mean, I don’t know it’s really for him. But I wanted to come here and uh – I don’t know, I guess make myself proud.”
The reporter has been receiving a ton of criticism on social media for badgering Bode into answering questions about his brother when he clearly was having an emotional moment.
We send our congratulations out to Bode for his big win!
