She’s really going after an Oscar with that scar on her face.

A scar on her face will not give her an Oscar. She needsmore, much more, She needs what only a few actors have and we call talent, just like Charlize Threron’s.

I agree Nani, that she needs to bring much more to the table than she has with her more commercial films from the last decade or so, but if she can revive a little of what she did in Friends with Money and The Good Girl, then I’d be really excited to see this film, because she showed much more promise as a more serious actress in those 2 roles. Heard that she was good in Life of Crime too, but we’ll have to see when it gets a broader release than a film festival.

Replaced by a true A-Lister Says:

Some movies kick around in development, trying to get made. “Miss You Already” is one of those movies. It first surfaced back in 2012, when Jennifer Aniston signed up to star with Paul Andrew Williams (“London To Brighton,” “Unfinished Song”) directing his Brit List script he co-wrote with Morwenna Banks. Toni Collette joined not too long after, but then everything stalled out. Now, two years later, the project is back on with some big changes.

Collette is still on board, but Aniston is out, and Rachel Weisz is in, while Catherine Hardwicke has replaced Williams in the director’s chair. And suddenly, we’re much more interested in this one. Said to be in the vein of “Beaches,” the story follows two best friends whose relationship ruptures when one becomes pregnant and the other becomes ill. The script was originally London-based, but has apparently been broadened to include other U.K. cities.

Like many other projects you’ll hear about in the coming weeks, this one is headed to Cannes to drum up sales and financing. If that comes together, then this will finally get rolling and if not….then it won’t. We’re interested though, because it will give Weisz her first small-scale drama since 2011′s beautiful “The Deep Blue Sea,” and certainly the best material Hardwicke has worked with in a while. And Collette tends to be a secret weapon in whatever she’s in, so we’ll see if this iteration can make “Miss You Already” happen.
