Benedict Cumberbatch Tells Heartbroken Fans That Their 'Ovaries Do Still Have Use'
Benedict Cumberbatch looks spiffy in a red blazer while making an appearance on Good Morning America on Monday (November 17) in New York City.
The 38-year-old The Imitation Game actor talked about his engagement to theater director Sophie Hunter and his fans’ reaction to the news.
“I’m very happy. I’m a very happy man,” Benedict said on Live with Kelly & Michael later in the day. “I have a great population of fans as well – they’re smart, they’ll get around to the idea. … Your ovaries do still have use, let me tell you!”
“It’s kind of the way I would have done it if I wasn’t in this exalted, weird position of being famous for being an actor,” Benedict said of announcing the news in a newspaper. “It’s the way we do things back at home in Blighty. … And it’s what I did to try and normalize the situation, rather than some grainy photography of some wedding ring.”
