First Openly Gay NFL Player Michael Sam Named a Man of the Year By 'GQ,' Gets Own Suave Cover!

Michael Sam holds a football wearing a sleek suit on the cover of one of GQ‘s Men of the Year issues.

The 24-year-old first openly gay football player in the NFL was ranked with some big names in GQ‘s list, including Chris Pratt, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and Dave Chappelle, among others.

“A big thank you to @GQMagazine for including me among their #GQMOTY – I’m beyond honored to share their company!!” Michael tweeted.

Michael received some bad luck when he was cut from the St. Louis Rams, and then cut from the Dallas Cowboys practice squad as well. He did tell his fans he’s going to keep fighting to play the game.
