Ian McKellen Cast as Cogsworth in Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast'

Big news — Ian McKellen has been cast in Disney’s live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, according to Variety.

The 75-year-old actor will be playing the role of Cogsworth, the butler who was turned into a clock.

Ian joins the cast which currently consists of Emma Watson, Daniel Stevens, Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Emma Thompson, Audra McDonald, and Kevin Kline.

The film will be released in 3D on March 17, 2017 and production is set to begin in May at Shepperton Studios in London.
