Apple Music Changes Policy After Taylor Swift Pens Letter

Taylor Swift has some major influence in the music industry.

So much so, that the 25-year-old’s letter to Apple about not paying artists during a 90-day free music-streaming trial has caused the company to change its policy!

Senior Vice President of Internet Services and Software Eddy Cue announced the decision change on Twitter. Check out his tweets below!

“When I woke up this morning and saw what Taylor had written, it really solidified that we needed a change. And so that’s why we decide we will now pay artists during the trial period,” Eddie told Billboard. “I let her know that we heard her concerns and are making the changes. We have a long relationship with Taylor so I wanted her to hear directly from us.”

As for her reaction, he said, “She was thrilled and very thankful and excited to see how quick we responded.”

  • S.

So, Taylor loves her fans – as long as they pay.
Listen up, Stans, that’s the celeb you adore… she’s all about the $$$

people need to stop care about what taylor swift has to say, she’s not jesus

  • Tania Alvarez-Hildebrand

Why should artists, any artist, not get paid during a trial period of any service?! Some of the comments on here are just senseless. I wouldn’t offer my services and hard work for anything unless I was getting paid, so why is her making a stand hurting peoples’ butts, unless you know nothing about the music industry or are not an artist yourself? This is NOT about the fans. It’s about fair music use. Not everything can be free. Love is free. Give it freely. Be willing to receive it in return. She’s protecting her livelihood, like anyone would. It’s not about how much she makes doing what she does. If you want to be on that same boat with her, then maybe you should put yourself out there, invest all that energy on building your carreer instead of letting the green goo eat at you.

She is Jesus, in the sense that she has a cult leader vibe.

  • Nameless

That’s why I never liked her. She’s looking only for money, not music !!!

  • Scarlett

Didn’t some photographer just call her out for her concert photo policy, it seems slightly hypocritical of her to me. I agree with her standing up to Apple, but get your house in order before you do something like that publicly.

  • Jo

    She’s soooo greedy

  • girl93

You know Taylor, most of your fans are teenagers that probably can’t afford to buy all your CDs, going to your expensives concerts. I get it, everybody wants money, but thanks to your fans you have all your success and fame. Don’t be so greedy Taylor.
