Roger Rees Dead - 'Cheers & 'West Wing' Actor Dies at 71

Stage and screen actor Roger Rees has sadly died at the age of 71.

The actor died on Friday night (July 10) at his home “after brief illness,” his rep told the New York Times.

Roger was starring on Broadway in the new Tony-nominated musical The Visit alongside Chita Rivera just a few months ago, but had to leave the production when he got sick. Best known for his roles as Robin Colcord on Cheers and John Marbury on The West Wing, he also won a Tony Award back in the 1980s.

Roger is survived by his husband, playwright Rick Elice. We send our thoughts and condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time.
