Emma Stone in Talks to Play Cruella de Vil in Disney Origin Story

Emma Stone is in talks to portray iconic Disney villain Cruella de Vil in an upcoming live-action movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The 27-year-old Aloha actress may star in the origin story of the 101 Dalmatians character.

The original animated 101 Dalmatians film premiered in 1961. Cruella was played in live-action by Glenn Close in 1996, and depicted as the head of a fashion house intent on stealing the dalmatians’ famous spotted fur coats.

The film does not yet have a director but is reportedly a priority for the studio and will likely begin shooting within the year.
