Chrissy Teigen & Anna Paquin Slam Piers Morgan for Criticizing Jennifer Aniston's Op-Ed Article

Chrissy Teigen and Anna Paquin are slamming Piers Morgan after he criticized Jennifer Aniston‘s article about tabloids body-shaming her.

The British journalist and former America’s Got Talent judge argued that Jennifer doesn’t have a place writing about the objectification of women as she poses for photos in magazines that are digitally airbrushed.

“There’s another reason why the media objectify and scrutinize famous women, and why little girls get confused about beauty and body image,” Piers wrote in an article for the Daily Mail. “It’s this: female stars like Jennifer Aniston deliberately perpetuate the myth of ‘perfection’ by posing for endless magazine covers which have been airbrushed so much that in some cases the celebrity is virtually unrecognizable.”

Chrissy and Anna weren’t having it and slammed him for his opinion piece.

Jennifer Aniston is so ridiculously photoshopped in magazines and in ads. If you see any pap shots of her she looks nothing like that image she’s selling. She should post a pic on her Instagram account without any filters or photoshop.

  • Ausangel01

Doesn’t Chrissy and Anna know that by continuing to react to whatever Piers is saying is playing right into his hands? Stop reacting to every single tweet the man sends out because it only serves to make both of you look like childish fools. Just agree to disagree and move on.

Sometimes Chrissy needs to learn to not say anything. She’s always going off on Twitter. Jen said her peace. Stop bringing attention to yourself.

  • Joher

I wonder if Chrissy gets paid for tweeting about everything and everyone or if she does it just because she’s bored?

  • meaghan

she doesn’t have an instagram account, or any social media for that matter – she walks the walk when it comes to wanting to live as private a life as possible. her “image” (which she writes in the huffpo piece has been almost entirely constructed by the media) is being sold by other people to make money off of her; she’s simply capitalizing on it, and she should.

if a raw, unfiltered look at her appearance is what people are looking for, they need look no further than her film cake: she wears little to no makeup at all throughout the whole thing. doing a non-commercial role that requires such openness and vulnerability speaks more to who she is as a person than any of the ads she appears in, as she has no control over the latter. (believe it or not, celebrities really have very little say over what mags do to their faces and in fact many of them, like jen and kerry washington, have spoken out about the dangers of perpetuating airbrushed images of perfection.)

people get so mad when celebs who are famously “beautiful” reveal they’re not comfortable with being fodder for public consumption, turning it around to blame the celebrity instead of themselves for buying into it and fueling the fire. the fault lies – at it always has – in the hands of the media, but targeting individual people is much easier than challenging entire social institutions so the cycle continues. (in this case, it’s worth noting that piers is not only someone who, obviously, follows and consumes tabloid media but is also PART of the media himself so of course he’s going to blame her before accepting his own complicity in the situation.) it’s something that will probably never change and at the end of the day, there are more important things going on in the world to be upset/concerned about, but I just truly don’t see where people get off victim-blaming/accusing jen aniston of hypocrisy when she’s done nothing to actually deserve that criticism.

  • Rian Booth

I understand where you’re coming from and agree but I also think that celebrities are also partly to blame and aren’t innocent in creating confusing ideals for young people.

  • HG

Does anyone else hate Twitter? No matter who it is, I feel like it reduces everyone to immature high schoolers. It doesn’t make anyone look good…

  • Faith + 1

He is right, she is a hypocrite.

Did Jennifer really think she would get only positive feedback? Some are on her side, some are not. That’s life.

  • Koos

People need to calm the fuck down. I liked the Jen’s article. AND I’m agree with Piers. Can’t believe how these women can’t think and analyse what is said. He’s obviously a feminist.

Little girls are not so stupid these days.
They read magazines and know anorexia is a serious illness.
They can see A. Jolie and understand being too thin is not good
for career and for keeping family.
They can see also Jennifer Aniston and realize what is necessary
to be healthy, beautiful and attractive.
Little girls can see also her strong philosopher skills.
And of course little girls can see her nipples
across transparent clothes – of course …

  • cutitout

How many times have we heard actresses COMPLAIN about all of the extreme photoshopping being done to them without their consent in magazines? The problem is not the fact they do their jobs and take publicity photos, its the magazine industry that is clearly disgusted with reality. Piers is going after the wrong culprit. Celebrities have no power over the photoshopped photos or the “gotcha” photos that tabloids publish. His issue should be with the media but because he ultimately is writing for the daily mail, I suppose going after your meal ticket is not so wise…..

  • Gina

It’s not so much about how much she tweets (I doubt she tweets more than the average celeb), you should probably blame sites like Just Jared for making articles about practically everything she says & sensationalizing it.

  • Gina

Sites like Just Jared bring attention to her, mainly.

  • MyName

Many of the ones that aren’t are Brad and Angelina fans. I don’t understand the hate. She didn’t do anything to Brad and Angelina.
Advertiser want to sell their products and do whatever. The tabloids want to sell negativity.

  • MyName

It’s part of the business. A doctor isn’t responsible for the high cost of pharmaceuticals. Should they then quit the medical profession?

  • MyName

Yes, even her Aveeno ads are about achieving better skin. There’s no mention of it being a miracle to change one’s appearance. Healthy skin is one of the best ways to look and feel beautiful regardless of whether or not the tabloids deem someone model acceptable.

  • MyName

Yes, they should have had their say once and moved on. He likes to goad people. He’s as tabloid as they come. I don’t though blame them for initially speaking out. Idiots like PM think they’re right if people don’t say anything and just avoid them.

  • Faith + 1

Stop with the Angelina-Brad-Jennifer-shit and grow up. There are billions of people in this world, everybody has a different taste which means some people like Jennifer and some don’t. The same counts for Brad and Angelina. This “scandal” happened 10-12 years ago and everybody who still talks about that needs to get a life.

  • MyName

There’s no reason to be a jerk about it. I stated that “many”, not all that insult her as Brad and Angelina fans. I agree that it should be long over but it isn’t for some. There are thousands of posts in their articles and some of them are ones insulting JA.
I have a life. I am taking a few moments to post, just as you have.

  • Faith + 1

Yeah but people could say the same about Jennifer’s fans. As far as I know they are also attacking Brad and Angelina. Every celebrity has crazy fans. That has always been like that.

  • Bartlett2015

Piers was giving his opinion, why the over reaction…It’s just an opinion. Images are manipulated. Young girls do grow up and realize it is all an illusion and has nothing to do with reality.

  • Ceunei

I’m one day younger than Jennifer Aniston, and believe me, it isn’t acceptable to be a naturally aging 47 year old with a really good body. I get shit for mine and I’m not even a celebrity. What is up with the USA? It really hates its women.

  • Dejohole

In the twenty years Jennifer Aniston has been in the business she has graciously taken a lot of crap from the public, people like Piers Morgan and the media. She has laughed it off, spoofed it off (remember that pregnancy spoof she did with Jimmy Kimmel). I can honestly not blame her for finally getting fed up and saying something. For all we know, and this is all conjecture, she can’t have kids and wants or wanted them badly and this is painful when she is constantly poked at.

  • MyName

True, some on both sides have been insulting just because they like one side. However, I’ve witness some Brad and Angelina fans tearing JA and her husband apart for ridiculously petty things and JA fans mostly stating that B&A were cheaters. That’s hardly the same thing.
I’m with the group that says let it go, especially since those involved have. I though still can’t understand why anyone could fault JA then or now for it.
Anyway, I don’t blame JA for finally being fed up with the tabloids.

  • Faith + 1

It’d be weird if billions of people would have the same taste and people would only praise her. That’s not how life works. Every celebrity has people who love or loathe them.

  • Jesus is coming…RUN!!!

The majority of people really don’t care

  • Jesus is coming…RUN!!!

Actually they do, they can boycott the magazine.

  • MyName

Agree that people have various tastes but love to loathe is extreme. I prefer like or indifference. Hate for someone just out doing their job and living their life is strange.

  • Faith + 1

Busy upvoting yourself, janeedoey/jainedoeie? Aniston must be really important to you but whatever makes you happy 😆 have a nice day wherever you are!

  • MyName

I haven’t upvoted any of my posts. I haven’t had time to even revisit that topic. Articles about her aren’t important to me. I just posted my opinion as others have. I do think it’s strange to “loathe” someone you only know from the media. You have a nice day too. I still don’t understand the silly haters, of any celeb.

  • neil

Jen’s comment is like a lawyer who likes working for a top law firm but then complains about their caliber of clientele. She is no virgin to the ins and outs of the “star making machinery” and it’s a bit rich of her to complain when she and her proxies have never been shy about using said machinery when it is to their benefit. You takes the good with the bad.

  • norah mackenzie

if she was that bothered abt it – she cd have done something – she has exploited her body and her physical attributes for years – shilling for water and hair etc etc – so what is wrong with the paps asking abt her photos – if she wanted privacy she can easily get it – the only thing she can talk abt is her ‘ looks” certainly not her career

  • norah mackenzie

nobody is poking at her – she is a celeb just like so many others – either one has to like or make it work for you. piers morgan is just 1 journalist who talked abt her article – either she gets a thicker skin and just laughs it off – nobody asked her to write an article – she did so why wouldnt pple ask her abt it ? she has complete approval over questions that are asked in every single interview – if she truly disliked the personal questions she cd have easily said that she didnt want to answer it and that was that. but only with this latest unflattering pictures of her has she spoken up

  • norah mackenzie

celebs always have pull over the magazines – if she didnt want to look so airbrushed she would not have posed for it – there are covers with her on gq posing naked or with a tie where she is so photoshopped – why did she even pose for those mags at that time – she has used her body or looks to shill a product fair enough but it is expected that celebs need to accept the fact that they can and will be criticised for what they do or say
