Johnny Depp Gives Shockingly Candid Interview About Divorce From Amber Heard, Money Issues, & More

Johnny Depp gives a very candid interview to attempt to set the record straight after being in the news for lawsuits, rumors about his spending, and more.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, Johnny told the publication about the lows he felt after his divorce from Amber Heard, as well as the numerous lawsuits he was involved with.

“I was as low as I believe I could have gotten. The next step was, ‘You’re going to arrive somewhere with your eyes open and you’re going to leave there with your eyes closed.’ I couldn’t take the pain every day,” he said. He added that to cope with his feelings, he began writing a memoir on a typewriter.

Johnny said, “I poured myself a vodka in the morning and started writing until the tears filled my eyes and I couldn’t see the page anymore. I kept trying to figure out what I’d done to deserve this. I’d tried being kind to everyone, helping everyone, being truthful to everyone…The truth is most important to me. And all this still happened.”

Involving rumors about his money, he mentioned his son Jack, 16, “My son had to hear about how his old man lost all his money from kids at school, that’s not right,” Johnny said.

He also added about rumors about his excessive spending, “It’s insulting to say that I spent $30,000 on wine…Because it was far more.”

Back in the day, Rolling Stone was the only accurate source of news about the entertainment world. But today, I’m not sure of their truthfulness. My point is, how do we know this is true and it comes from Johnny? In that period of time, he also lost his mother. Does the article mention that?

  • Strats

What did he do to deserve this? I think it started when he left the mother of his children for a woman half his age.

  • GroundControl500

Well I guess I have to read the whole article cause this just makes him sound like a whiny baby refusing to take any responsibility. It’s all somebody else’s fault and he just tried to do everything right. GMAFB. 🎻 😭

The rolling stone article is very lengthy and goes into a lot of detail. It does talk about his mother’s death and his divorce (to the extent that the NDA will allow) It also talks about his lavish spending but also mentions details like Depp financially supports the majority of his extended family and when he was told to sell one of his houses to pay off a loan he backed out because his daughter begged him not to do it (it’s her childhood home). The article paints Depp as a middle-aged actor who is somewhat out of touch and has managed to make a mess out of his extremely privileged life but it also implies that he kind of likes it that way, after all his two heroes (and surrogate father figures are Marlin Brando and Hunter S. Thompson). What the article doesn’t do is remind us that Depp is still a person. A person who has a lot of the same issues we all do but because of his profession Depp’s issues get to be televised for all to see. Granted Depp wanted to do this interview in an attempt to air his side of the story so in the end you get what you asked for, I guess.

You do it like Depp. Blame everybody else but never yourself. Lol

  • Mastermind

what utter PR nonsense ! He‘s a horrible wife beater who is lying and faking all the time. An extremely unlikable person who has
    completely lost contact with reality.

This just makes him sound like he has drinking problem, which is what Amber and the tabloids have been saying for years.

I guess it also didn’t help that one whose name we do not speak of filed for divorce two days after his mother died. That’s just pure EVIL.

That one drinks just as much as he does.

Please take a look at the evidence list before you go accusing him of something he did not do.

Maybe you should take a look at the extortion letter that was posted on one of those paid for gossip sites.

Right. The RS writer also failed to do his research or even estimate the huge amount of money that was given to Vanessa when they separated.

There is some confusion in the way the article was written. His mother died in May but she woke up to that attack in December. And filed for divorce 2 days later, on the eve of the funeral:

” On May 20th, 2016, Depp’s mother died. The next night, Heard reportedly called iO Tillett Wright, an artist and friend of the couple, and told Wright to call 911. Wright wrote later on the website Refinery29, “I could hear [Depp] saying, ‘What if I pulled your hair back?’ ”

Wright called the police, and photographs of Heard with a bruise on her face emerged. Wright also wrote:
The reports of violence started with a kick on a private plane, then it was shoves and the occasional punch, until finally, in December, she described an all-out assault and she woke up with her pillow covered in blood. I know this because I went to their house. I saw the pillow with my own eyes. I saw the busted lip and the clumps of hair on the floor.”

Two days later, Heard filed for divorce, on the eve of Depp’s mother’s funeral.”

So, did she file for divorce but stayed with him until December when he hit her in her sleep.? Or washis mother’s funeral 6 months after she died? Confusing!
