Meghan Markle Breaks Royal Protocol with Her Nails - Here's How

Meghan Markle is not afraid to be a rule breaker and she showed off her own personal style at the 2018 The Fashion Awards.

The 37-year-old pregnant Duchess of Sussex wore black nail polish to match her black Givenchy dress at the event on Monday (December 10) in London, England.

Queen Elizabeth set the royal style protocol of wearing translucent nail shades and through it’s not an official rule, the Queen reportedly thinks colorful nail polishes are distracting, according to People.

While Kate Middleton has worn bright red nail polish on her toes, she has yet to wear a bright color on her fingernails.

A source previously told People that Meghan “has found certain rules in the royal household difficult to understand, like the fact that the Queen prefers women in dresses or skirts rather than trouser suits, and is often asking Harry why things have to be done in a certain way.”
