Comedian Artie Lange Tests Positive for Cocaine, Will Enter Treatment Facility

Artie Lange is going to a treatment facility, not jail as has been reported, after he tested positive for cocaine twice in two months.

The 51-year-old comedian is currently serving four years of probation after he plead guilty to heroin possession and tested positive to several substances, including cocaine, back in December 2017.

Artie reported to Essex County Jail in New Jersey on Wednesday (January 30) after he failed another drug test, according to NJ.com.

Though the drug court has the authority to remand him to jail, his team says he is being transferred to a long term treatment facility instead.

Artie‘s team tweeted, “The comments made by Arties lawyer have been taken out of context.. Artie was not arrested and sent to jail… they are holding him a few days to sober up before transferring him to a long term treatment facility, Artie needs us to be with him, not against him.”
