'American Horror Story' & Two More Shows Leaving Limited Series Category for 2019 Emmys

The Television Academy has decided that American Horror Story, The Sinner, and American Vandal will not compete in the Limited Series categories at the upcoming Emmy Awards.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse and The Sinner season two will compete in the Drama categories while American Vandal season two will compete in the Comedy categories. This reclassification is only for this year and “due to continuing story threads, characters and actors reprising those same character roles from previous seasons.”

AHS, which is an anthology series, featured characters from previous seasons coming back for a new storyline.

The Sinner featured a new storyline and mostly new actors, though it still featured Bill Pullman as the central character Detective Harry Ambrose. American Vandal also brought back two characters from season one.
