'Lord of the Rings' Amazon Series Gets Renewed Ahead of Premiere

The upcoming Lord of the Rings TV series has been renewed before it even premiered!

According to Deadline, Amazon has given the show an early renewal for season two, which is still in pre-production on its first season.

Not much is known about the new series, except that it will take place before the events in Lord of the Rings‘ first book The Fellowship of the Ring.

Cast members are set to include Will Poulter, Australian actress Markella Kavenagh, and Game of Thrones alum Joseph Mawle.

The series does not yet have a premiere date.
