Leonardo DiCaprio's Organization to Donate $3 Million to Australia Wildfire Fund

Leonardo DiCaprio‘s environmental organization Earth Alliance has committed to donating $3 million to support the Australia Wildfire Fund, which will help with an “international response to the catastrophic bushfires.”

The Oscar-winning actor launched the organization in response to a growing climate crisis and staggering loss of biodiversity threatening the stability of life on Earth.

“Earth Alliance is committing $3m to the #AustraliaWildfireFund to assist firefighting efforts, aid communities, enable wildlife rescue, and support long term restoration with @aussie_ark @BushHeritageAus @WIRES_NSW @emcollective @Global_Wildlife,” the organization tweeted.

25 people have been killed and 2,000 homes have been destroyed so far during the fires. It has also been estimated that 500 million animals have been killed.
