Simon Cowell Undergoes Near 6-Hour Surgery After Breaking His Back in Bike Accident

Simon Cowell is on the mend after a scary accident.

The 60-year-old America’s Got Talent judge was in surgery for nearly six hours on Saturday (August 8) after breaking his back in a bike crash, Page Six reported Sunday (August 9).

“It was a long surgery, they had to fuse his bones and implant a rod. But thank goodness he’s going to be okay and will have a few months of recovery,” a source told the outlet.

As reported earlier, Simon was rushed to the hospital after falling on his back while testing out an electric bike in the courtyard of his house.

“He hurt his back and was taken to the hospital. He’s doing fine, he’s under observation and is in the best possible hands,” a rep said at the time.
