Who is Geraldine in 'WandaVision'? What Was on Her Necklace in Episode 3?

Geraldine has become a huge mystery on the new Marvel series WandaVision, which is streaming now on Disney+.

The third episode of the nine-episode limited series just premiered and Teyonah Parris‘ character Geraldine played a huge role. We’re so fascinated by what happened in the last few moments of the episode specifically!

In 2019, it was announced that Teyonah would be taking the role of Monica Rambeau.

In the comics Monica Rambeau was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and gained powers after being hit with extra-dimensional energy. Initially she would be also called Captain Marvel. She would then change her name to Pulsar, and then eventually become Spectrum which she is known in the comic books today.

Click inside for some spoilers on who Monica/Geraldine really is in the show…

During episode 3, Geraldine helps Wanda deliver her babies. While Vision is walking the doctor back home, Wanda has a private conversation in her home with Geralidine where she shares she was a twin as well and mentions her twin brother Pietro aka Quicksilver. It’s here that Wanda’s fragile reality starts to crumble when Geraldine asks “He was killed by Ultron, wasn’t he?” Keep in mind, Ultron would be a highly sensitive name to Wanda since he was responsible for killing her brother and destroying her hometown of Sokovia.

At the end of the episode, we see Geralidine being shot out from the sky, and falling near a Westview town sign as modern day vehicles surround her. The camera pans out and we see a wall of spotlights shining into the town of Westview surrounded by some sort of force field.

In the show, it looks like Geraldine/Monica Rambeau is actually a S.W.O.R.D agent trying to connect (and fail) with Wanda. In episode 3, we see Geraldine wearing a necklace with a Sword pendant and Wanda was taken aback when she saw the logo.

S.W.O.R.D. stands for Sentient Weapon Observation and Response Division on the show and serves as an American intelligence agency, similar to SHIELD.

Fun Fact: We saw Monica Rambeau, but as a child in the Captain Marvel movie. She was Carol Danver’s friend’s kid.
