Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy enlists the help of Joel McHale to help her prepare for the Emmy nominations announcement this week.

“When you’re reading those names, you can’t react. You must feel nothing. NOTHING!” Joel advises in this hilarious new “Emmy Training Day” video.

Among the items Joel has Melissa do: show no emotion with a puppy in front of her, box, fold laundry, wax his car, grab a chicken, and catch golf balls with her mouth!

It’s official – Jane Lynch is hosting the 2011 Emmys!

“I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys. I’m looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit,” the 50-year-old Glee star said in a statement.

“Jane was my first – and only – choice as the host for this year’s Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said ‘yes,’” said executive producer Mark Burnett. “She has incredible comedic timing, and is a charismatic, talented actress whose energy leaps off the screen and stage. I am thrilled and excited to have her as our host.”

The 2011 Emmys airs live from Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday, September 18, on Fox.
