Gerren Taylor has sadly passed away at the age of 30.
Essence is reporting that the former BET star and model died over the weekend on Sunday, April 11.
No cause of her death has been released at this time.
The site does report that Gerren had battled with lupus and was on dialysis at the time of her death, but it remains unclear if this was a contributing cause.
Gerren kicked off her career when she was just 12, and became the youngest model to ever sign with the runway division of LA Models.
She’s also recognized for her run on BET’s Baldwin Hills, which aired from 2007 to 2009, and followed the lives of wealthy African-American teens growing up in the Los Angeles neighborhood of the same name.
She was also part of the 2007 documentary America Is Beautiful.
