Rocketman‘s Taron Egerton, Richard Madden, and Jamie Bell are featured in the brand new issue of GQ magazine (which features Keanu Reeves on the cover).

In the interview, the trio spoke about some of Elton John‘s biggest hits (Rocketman is a biopic with Taron playing the role of Elton).

Taron spoke about “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King, saying, “Like many people of my age, The Lion King was a huge thing. I watched it over and over and over. At the time, my mother and I were living in a bungalow on the isle of Anglesey, which is an island off the north coast of Wales. It’s quite remote. You have to cross a very beautiful expanse of water over a bridge to get to it. We’d moved there from the North of England. It was probably a couple of years after my parents had separated. I remember it being this sort of adventurous time in our lives, where we were off in this new place. And that was a big, fairly formative piece of film in my life. It was one of those things that stick out as being one of the first things I really fell in love with.”

Kate Mara and Jamie Bell are heading out for a hike.

The married couple, who are expecting their first child together, were spotted going on a leisurely hike on Saturday (April 20) in Silver Lake, Calif.

Kate showed off her growing baby bump underneath a green jacket and grey sweatpants.

Next up for Kate is the FX limited series A Teacher, which is based on a 2013 film. She plays a female high school teacher who is caught having an affair with a student. The project was announced last summer.

Taron Egerton and Jamie Bell are on the cover of Man About Town magazine, due out in mid-April.

The two were also photographed by Brooklyn Beckham.

Here’s what the Rocketman co-stars had to say…

Taron, on playing Elton John: “I have to say, I think when your primary objective is sounding like someone, then you slightly sacrifice a purity of expression and a real humanity. It can become a little bit sterile…and I absolutely didn’t want to do that because this is about illuminating someone’s life and what’s really going on with them…so there’s inevitably a bit of Taron in there because we’re talking about the spirit of someone and about their inner life and their drug addiction, not about the way they move their mouth in an interview.”

Taron, on creative freedom: “For me, it’s really fun telling this story in a slightly less conventional way because it means you can bend the character slightly. So me running around like a lunatic and dancing as if my life depended on it in this kind of wild, anarchic way, is not necessarily something we’ve seen Elton John do before. But that’s fun. We get that little more license.”

Jamie, on the story of Rocketman: “It was very brave material in terms of the way they wanted to do this. In terms of telling this story. The movie spends many decades in Elton’s life, so to do that economically…we’ve used his music and the lyrics of his songs to try and help progress the story. And in some senses it kind of spins off into its own fantasy and its own reality. I felt that if you were going to tell the story of this man we all know…then this would be the way to tell it.”

Jamie Bell rests his hand on wife Kate Mara‘s baby bump during an afternoon stroll on Monday (April 8) in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old pregnant actress looked pretty in a black dress while the 33-year-old Rocketman actor went sporty in a white, Adidas long-sleeved shirt and gray trackpants for their outing.

Jamie Bell and Kate Mara couple up on the purple carpet at the premiere of Teen Spirit on Tuesday night (April 2) at the ArcLight in Hollywood, Calif.

The 33-year-old actor – who produced the film – kept things cool in a black bomber jacket over a white T-shirt while the 36-year-old actress dressed her growing baby bump in a black dress for the premiere.

Also stepping out for the premiere was The Handmaid’s Tale actor Max Minghella, who directed the film.

Taron Egerton helped host a special screening of his upcoming Elton John biopic Rocketman!

The 29-year-old actor, who plays Elton in the flick, stepped out at the event on Monday night (March 18) at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, Calif.

He was joined by his co-stars Jamie Bell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Richard Madden and Gemma Jones as well as director David Furnish.

Other attendees included Patrick Stewart, Darren Criss, his wife Mia Swier, Kelly Osbourne and Betty Who.

Rocketman hits theaters on May 31.

Elle Fanning and Max Minghella bring their film Teen Spirit to the 2019 SXSW Festival for a premiere held at the Paramount Theatre on Tuesday (March 12) in Austin, Tex.

If you don’t know, Elle starred in the film and Max wrote and directed the movie. Jamie Bell was also in attendance as he executive produced the movie.

Back in August, Elle and Max were actually romantically linked when they were seen flaunting some PDA on a night out in London, England. It’s unclear if they’re dating or just pals.

FYI: Elle is wearing a Miu Miu outfit and Sophia Webster shoes.
