Gabi Butler Reacts To Jerry Harris's Arrest & Child Pornography Charges

Gabi Butler says that her heart is broken after hearing of the charges against her Navarro teammate and Cheer co-star, Jerry Harris.

The athlete posted a statement on her social media page after Jerry had been formally arrested for child pornography and solicitation charges.

“Like most of you, I am shocked, dismayed, and deeply saddened by the recent news concerning my friend and former teammate Jerry Harris,” she wrote on Instagram on Friday, September 18.

“Ever since I heard the news I have gone back and forth between sobbing uncontrollably and trying to wrap my head around why something like this could happen. To be clear, although I have been a close friend and teammate with Jerry, I was never aware of anything like what he has been accused of taking place,” Gabi continued.

She went on, “I believe the protection of children is more than important than ever in today’s world and absolutely do not condone any actions that bring harm to a child. Issuing a statement like this hurts my heart more than any of you will ever know. As a Christian woman, the only thing I know to do is pray for all involved and the world we live in. My heart is broken.”

In the official criminal complaint, Jerry allegedly contacted an underage boy on social media and solicited him to produce sexually explicit videos and photographs of himself.

Monica Aldama, the head coach on the Netflix series Cheer, is reacting to the arrest of her former student Jerry Harris.

The 21-year-old cheerleader was arrested on Thursday (September 17) after an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.

Jerry was arrested on “production of child pornography charges” after being accused of soliciting nude photos from two 14-year-old boys, as well as allegedly engaging in sexual conversations with them and asking one of the boys to meet up for sex.

Monica is currently competing on Dancing With the Stars and she took to Instagram after the arrest to share her thoughts.

Netflix Releases a Statement After 'Cheer' Star Jerry Harris is Arrested on Production of Child Pornography Charges

Netflix is breaking its silence after the arrest of Cheer star Jerry Harris.

On Thursday (September 17), the 21-year-old cheerleader was arrested on “production of child pornography charges,” the U.S. Attorney’s office in Chicago said.

Jerry‘s arrest comes after it was revealed earlier this month that he had “solicited sexually explicit photos and sex from minor.”

“Like everyone we are shocked by this news,” a Netflix spokesperson told ABC News in a statement. “Any abuse of minors is a terrible crime and we respect the legal process.”

Jerry is denying the allegations made against him.

Jerry
is scheduled to appear in court for a detention hearing on Monday, September 21. If convicted, Jerry could face 15 to 30 years in prison.

He is also being sued over the accusations.

More details about Jerry Harris‘s legal battles are being revealed, with news of the Cheer star being sued by two twin brothers.

Deadline reports that the 21-year-old’s accusers have filed court documents against the Netflix breakout, claiming that he sent them sexually explicit messages when they were just 13 years old.

The lawsuit states that the twin brothers befriended Jerry in 2018, during a cheer competition and says that the boys were “star struck” with him and their relations expanded beyond just text messages to meeting in “secluded locations at various competitions.”

After their mother found out, she reported Jerry to Varsity, a giant in the sport of cheerleading, who in turn reported the incidents to police.

Reps for Jerry are denying the claims.

“We categorically dispute the claims made against Jerry Harris, which are alleged to have occurred when he was a teenager. We are confident that when the investigation is completed the true facts will be revealed,” they said in a statement.

Jerry Harris is facing accusations of soliciting sex and sexually explicit photos from minors and now he is responding to the claims.

It was reported on Monday (September 14) that the FBI executed a search warrant, though he has not been charged with any crime as of now.

Jerry‘s rep responded told ABC News, “We categorically dispute the claims made against Jerry Harris, which are alleged to have occurred when he was a teenager. We are confident that when the investigation is completed the true facts will be revealed.”

Sources told ABC News that the only thing being investigated is Jerry‘s text messages and that no allegations pertain to physical activity.

The allegations were reported to the police by Varsity, a giant in the cheerleading industry, who are required to report any and all accusations by law.

Cheer's Jerry Harris Under Investigation Following 'Inappropriate Sexual Conduct' Allegations

Jerry Harris is under FBI Investigation after being accused of “inappropriate sexual conduct”.

The report, via USA Today, says that the 21-year-old cheerleader, and one of the stars of Netflix’s Cheer, had “solicited sexually explicit photos and sex from minor.”

A search warrant was issued for Jerry‘s home in Illinois this afternoon (September 14). He has not been criminally charged with anything.

The allegations were reported to the police by Varsity, a giant in the cheerleading industry, who are required to report any and all accusations by law.

“As a result of the recent allegation, we have barred this person from having any affiliation with Varsity Brands or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates, now and in the future,” Varsity’s chief legal officer, Burton Brillhart shared about the allegations and consequences.

Mr. Billhart‘s letters to police, dated August 1, include screenshots from a conversation that appear to have Jerry‘s face in them.

Jerry, who was once rumored to be part of the new Dancing With The Stars season, worked for Varsity at a cheer camp last year. He became one of Cheer‘s hottest stars with his iconic mat talks.
