The coaches sang the classic Green Day song “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)”. That band’s lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong played a pivotal role this season as the guest mentor for Team Christina.

During the episode, the coaches all helped Christina celebrate her 32nd birthday with a special tribute video. Happy birthday, Xtina!

The 30-year-old newly engaged singer was joined on stage for a performance of her song “Catch My Breath” by season three finalists Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott.

Kelly is no stranger to The Voice – last season she served as a guest mentor on Team Blake!

After her performance, Kelly gushed about being engaged and said that she watched the performance show last night at her fiance Brandon Blackstock‘s house.

The Voice‘s third season came to a close with its finale on Tuesday (December 18) and the winner has been announced!

Coach Blake Shelton entered the finale with two contestants, Cee Lo Green with one, and Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine both had zero. In the final performance round, each contestant sang a highlight from the past season, a new cover song, and a duet with his or her coach.

The final three contestants included Terry McDermott (Team Blake), Cassadee Pope (Team Blake), and Nicholas David (Team Cee Leo).

The season finale featured guest performances from Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, and more!
