Nicole Scherzinger: 'Rent' This Summer with Vanessa Hudgens!

Nicole Scherzinger is set to play Maureen in a production of Rent this summer!

The 31-year-old singer and DWTS champ will join Vanessa Hudgens in a Neil Patrick Harris-directed production of the Broadway hit this August in Hollywood.

“Nicole had a wonderful audition – she was well prepared, sang beautifully, and had us all laughing,” NPH told BroadwayWorld. “If only she was somewhat attractive and didn’t have two left feet… I’m very excited to have finally finished the casting process, and look forward to rolling up my sleeves and start rehearsing.”

FYI: Glee‘s Lea Michele was long rumored to play the part but she has the Tony Awards going on… and she told JustJared.com that she’s going to spend all of her free time this summer being a Broadway junkie.
