The Script: Steak for Christmas Dinner!

The Script rocked out at this year’s Y100 Jingle Ball, and the Irish band caught up with JustJared.com after hitting the stage.

JJ: What number Jingle Ball was this for you?

TS: Jingle Ball number 1.

JJ: First one ever! Congratulations. What was the best present you got as a kid and one you never wanted but you never got?

TS: The best present I ever got was when I was 15 and I got my first drum kit. One that I wanted, but I never got, not sure — you go ahead [bandmate takes microphone] Best one I got was a computer, my very first computer. One that I wanted that I didn’t get was, I’m not sure. I really don’t know.

JJ: What do you want for Christmas this year?

TS: Time off. Time off would be nice.

JJ: For Santa, are you on the naughty or nice list this year?

TS: Naughty, I think I’m on the naughty list. We might be wanted in some states.

JJ: Do you have any favorite family traditions?

TS: Yeah – in our family, we usually don’t normally have turkey on Christmas – we have steak!

JJ: Do you cook yourself?

TS: Oh yeah, I’ve cooked for 2 years.

JJ: How about you?

TS: Our tradition is that the family meets up around 7 o’clock and have a big ‘Piss up’ is what we call it. On Christmas Eve we all hang out together, Christmas day we eat dinner together, drink, chill out, and play a bunch of board games together.

JJ: Do you guys have any favorite Christmas carols?

TS: Sometimes my friends would come around and we’d pull out the guitars and we’d have a big sing song. Then the neighbors would call and it’d turn out to be very late night and we’d have no voice the next day so we take a few days off – so that’ll probably happen again.

JJ: If you could design the ugliest Christmas sweater, what would you put on it?

TS: It’d probably have to be a puppy with a Santa hat with reindeer ears. Or Gollum with a Santa hat on and sticking on a Christmas jumper. Also with boxer shorts with a skull and a Santa hat on.
