Mandy Moore Used to Have Insecurities About Her Height

Mandy Moore picks up two drinks from Cafe Gratitude on Thursday (June 21) in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old actress recently chatted about being the spokesperson for Dove’s new “Women Who Should Be Famous” campaign, which highlights real women role models that girls can look up to.

Asked if her self-esteem ever took a dive when she was growing up, Mandy revealed she “definitely had insecurities about my height.”

“I went through a big growth spurt and for a period of time, was taller than a lot of my friends,” the 5’10″ entertainer told Glamour.

“I used to hunch over and complain to my parents about sticking out or feeling awkward in my body. My mom, who is about eight inches shorter than me, never failed to mention how envious she was of my height and that it was a beautiful quality,” Mandy added. “She reminded me to embrace what I was given and stand tall with my shoulders back… I guess the grass is always greener.”
