Sara Bareilles to Write Score for Broadway Musical 'Waitress'!

Sara Bareilles is about to add Broadway composer to her resume as she is set to write the score to the upcoming Broadway musical Waitress!

The show will be based on the 2007 movie of the same name starring Keri Russell, about a pregnant and unhappily married waitress in the deep south who falls into an unlikely relationship with a newcomer in town as a last attempt at happiness.

Sara will write the show’s music and lyrics with Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel writing the book. Diane Paulus, who just won a Tony Award for Pippin, will direct.

The news was revealed by producers Barry and Fran Weissler after they won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical for Pippin.
