John Legend Reveals How He Coped with His Parents' Divorce

John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen hold hands while taking a romantic stroll along the East River on Thursday (July 31) in New York City.

The 35-year-old singer was seen holding his hand on Chrissy‘s butt during the stroll and they also shared a cute kiss.

John recently chatted with People about how he coped with his parents’ divorce at a young age.

“I was 10 years old when my parents got divorced,” John said. “It’s a pretty common story in America, and it’s a pretty tough time for kids, especially if they’re still at home in the middle of growing up.”

“It was important to have teachers and counselors at school who could give emotional support,” John added. “All of these people took extra time to show me that they cared and were going to hold me accountable.”
