Prince Harry Gets a Big Hug From a Sick Child, Celebrates Courageous Children at the WellChild Awards
Prince Harry meets with Carson Hartley, a four-year-old ill child, while backstage at the WellChild awards at the London Hilton on Monday (September 22) in London, England.
The 30-year-old Prince met the little boy, who suffers from lung disease, heart defect, Spina Bifida and brittle bone disease, as well as many other sick kids for an evening to celebrate the courage of ill youth.
“We were worried he was going to high-five Prince Harry in the face he was so excited,” Carson‘s mother, Kirsty Hartley, said at the show. “Harry got down on his knees and had a big smile on his face while he was chatting to Carson, he couldn’t believe how active he was despite all the conditions he has. He said he thought he was inspirational for still being so happy, but he also said that parents must be recognized too for how hard they work, which was really nice to hear.”
