'Trainwreck' Theater Shooting in Louisiana Leaves Three Dead

Six people are injured following a shooting during a screening of the movie Trainwreck on Thursday night (July 23) at the Grand Theatre in Lafayette, La.

It has been confirmed by City Marshal Brian Pope that the shooting took place during a 7pm showing of the new Amy Schumer comedy. The shooter turned the gun on himself and he is dead.

Eyewitness Katie Domingue told The Daily Advertiser that the shooting happened 20 minutes into the movie.

“We heard a loud pop we thought was a firecracker,” she said, adding that “an older white man” stood up in the crowd and shot down.

“He wasn’t saying anything. I didn’t hear anybody screaming either,” she added.

We send our thoughts and condolences to anyone affected by this tragedy.

UPDATE: It is now being reported that three people, including the shooter, have died.
