Shonda Rhimes Talks About Her 100 Pound Weight Loss
Shonda Rhimes steps out on stage during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing on Monday (November 9).
The 45-year-old Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy creator opened up about why she was inspired to lose over 100 pounds throughout the last year.
“I got on an airplane, I was going to NY from LA and it was first class and it was going to be really comfortable. I got in my seat, I took off my shoes, I got out my book and I went to buckle the seat-belt and it wouldn’t buckle and I thought to myself, something is wrong with the seat-belt, its broken,” Shonda said. “But it wasn’t the seat-belt it was me. And I thought when I can get a seat-belt extender or I can die and not get a seat-belt extender, but maybe the plane will crash or I fly outta my seat, when we take off and I decided I will risk it and fly outta my seat and not say anything.”
