Christina Aguilera Talks About the Pressures of Motherhood
Christina Aguilera looks super fierce on the cover of Women’s Health‘s March 2016 issue.
Here is what the 35-year-old singer and The Voice coach had to share with the mag:
On being a mother: “Mothers are constantly expected to be the nurturers, the givers, the providers of a comfortable home. We’re expected to be pregnant, have the kids, breast-feed once we have the babies. And we’re expected to look amazing after baby, right? Keep our husbands and boyfriends interested”because we’re supposed to get back to sexy and keep things exciting in the bedroom. There’s such a long list. Having children is the ultimate joy, and I love my kids, but women have to find time to nurture themselves. If someone has a baby, the first thing I’m like is, ‘Okay, are you taking care of you?’”
On her new upcoming album: “I’ve been loosely working on my album for the last couple of years, but I don’t like anything feeling too contrived or forced. So I now have given the time over the past few months to dive into my project on a very serious level and I’m super, super excited about the artists that are on-board, the producers, people that I haven’t experimented with yet before – Its going to be a lot of exciting stuff to come.”
On her respect for Adele: “She has a way of singing with such truth. I love how genuine she comes across in her songwriting.”
