Hamilton's Daveeds Diggs Says Pence 'Got Off Easy'
Daveed Diggs, one of the original and Tony-winning stars of Broadway’s Hamilton, has commented on Mike Pence‘s visit to the show and says the VP-elect “got off easy” with the way he was treated.
The 34-year-old actor, who originated the role of Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson and currently stars on ABC’s Black-ish, compared the visit to other politicians’ visits to the theater.
“Hillary [Clinton] was boo’d at @HamiltonMusical during primaries, Lincoln was killed at the theater, Pence was asked to be fair. I say he got off easy,” Daveed said. He is no longer performing in the show and was not at the theater at the time of the incident.
Pence was in the audience for the performance on Friday (November 18) and the cast delivered a respectful message to him after the show, asking him to represent everyone’s interests during his term as Vice President of the United States.
Make sure to read what celebs had to say about Donald Trump‘s demand for the cast of Hamilton to apologize to Pence.
