Former President George H.W. Bush Hospitalized for Shortness of Breath, Wife Barbara Also In Hospital

UPDATE: Barbara Bush, George HW Bush‘s wife, had also been admitted to the hospital, “as a precaution after experiencing fatigue and coughing.”

Former President George H.W. Bush has been hospitalized for “shortness of breath.”

The 92-year-old politician is “being monitored as a precaution and is resting comfortably.” He’s currently at the Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas, and is expected to go home in a few days, NBC News reports.

The 41st President of the United States was elected back in 1988 after defeating Democrat Michael Dukakis in the general election. He was succeeded by former President Bill Clinton in 1992.
