Michelle Williams Joins 'Me Too' Movement Founder Tarana Burke at Golden Globes 2018

Michelle Williams hit the 2018 Golden Globe Awards red carpet with founder of the #MeToo movement Tarana Burke.

The 37-year-old Manchester by the Sea actress and the civil rights activist teamed up for the event held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

“You know why we’re here?” Michelle told E! News. “We’re here because of Tarana. You may think we’re here because I was nominated for something but that’s really not the case. We’re here because Tarana started a movement and she planted a seed years ago and it’s grown and caught fire. She started the #MeToo movement.”

Michelle is nominated for Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in All the Money in the World as Gail Harris, up against Jessica Chastain for Molly’s Game, Sally Hawkins for The Shape of Water, Frances McDormand for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and Meryl Streep for The Post.

Tune in for the Golden Globes, hosted by Seth Meyers, at 8pm EST/5pm PST on NBC.

FYI: Michelle is wearing Louis Vuitton.
