Cirque du Soleil Aerialist Yann Arnaud Dies After Falling Onto Stage During Show

Yann Arnaud, a longtime performer with Cirque du Soleil (pictured here on the left), fell to the stage and died from his injuries during a performance on Saturday (March 17) in Tampa, Florida.

“It is with immense sadness that Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group reports that a tragic accident occurred last night, March 17, during a performance of its show ‘Volta,’ in Tampa, Florida. While he was performing the aerial straps number, long-time aerialist, Yann Arnaud, fell onto the stage,” a statement read. “Yann was transported to the nearest hospital … he later passed away from his injuries.”

Yann had been with the company for over 15 years.
