Effie Passero Sings Original Song on 'American Idol,' Cements Her Spot as a Frontrunner!

One of the most memorable auditions so far on American Idol‘s reboot season was from singer-songwriter Effie Passero, who performed her original song “Troubled Mind” for the judges.

The 26-year-old singer, who is currently an assistant property manager in Modesto, Calif., wowed the judges with her powerful voice and they gave her a standing ovation.

“I just want to know who you are. How did you get that voice and why are you a property administrative manager,” Katy Perry asked.

“I ask myself that every day,” Effie jokingly replied. “I grew up studying opera so I never really started writing music ’til I was older.”
